It's been a while!

From Ice Storm to Summertime....
My daughter just turned 11 a few weeks ago. These are some of her best friends. They had a great time modeling for the camera!

Worst Ice Storm I've Seen

On Jan 28 we had a terrible ice storm. It sleeted ALL afternoon and into the night. We lost power all over the city within a few hours. It was 7 days before we received power and still many more do not have it yet. We are grateful to ALL the electrical crews that came in from many other states to help us return to normal. It will be a long recovery.


This tree's branches normally are 4-5 ft above my husbands head, but with all the ice, it hung to the ground. To my surprise, we didn't lose the tree. We had to trim a few broken branches but I think it will recover nicely.

This is the other side of it.

The icicles were long and stayed for about 4-5 days.

Power lines down everywhere. They just fell over and broke in half from the weight of the ice.

A traffic light broke.

It was quite an experience living without power for a week. Never thought I could do it. Thank God for generators. We mainly needed heat. We burned thru lots and lots of candles and played lots of lots of cards. The kids were super hyper from not being able to watch TV or go outside to play. We will be more prepared next time!!

Corn Maize

This weekend we went to a corn maize and the kids had such a blast.

They had animals to feed. This little guy came running when he heard the kids get some food. He was such a pig! They also some baby goats which are so cute!

Proud Mama

Both of my kids were selected right away for Student of the Month. I'm so proud of them. There's nothing a momma likes better than when her kids are good for others.

I'm also a proud cousin...My cousin just had her new baby, Madison. Isn't she precious.

Soccer Time

Canyon started soccer Saturday. He scored 4 goals. We were so proud. He really likes soccer. Maybe he will be like his uncle Chris!

Golf

My husband has been playing lots of golf this summer and now has the whole family a little interested in it. A couple Sundays ago when "MOM" is trying to get everyone to help clean the house, the "boys" had a different idea. These are the faces they give me to get what they want. Who can resist???So, Jantz found the perfect ball for me! :)

This is Canyon hitting balls out behind our house.

Not golf related, but we went to a skating birthday party couple nights ago and Jayla thinks she Miss Roller Skating Princess now. I think you can tell by her expression she was surprised she was still hanging on.
